No ring, no bed!

Sex before marriage? One question that has continued to haunt me right into adulthood! Of course the church taught that it was an unacceptable concept to even think about! Never mind actually doing the deed 🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾

My parents, on the other hand, took a different approach to it. My Mother ❤️ was completely honest from the get go! She reassured me that it is a very enjoyable act to perform, but she also thoroughly warned me not to gift this special moment just to anybody! It wasn’t the “Wait for marriage & don’t give it out for free☝🏾”  talk that she gave me (I got that from my Father🌹)

My mother’s approach was more focused on making me understand just how precious making loveis, so much that I see for myself the importance of waiting for it. I honestly think that the whole ideal of ‘No ring, no bed’ pushes us (young ladies) to a definite misunderstanding of the value of the BED and the importance of the wait. I believe that the idea is not to wait for a prince charming to swoop you off your feet, carry you to the alter and straight to the bedroom! No. I believe in meeting someone, having conversations with them (the never-ending type), building a relationship with them, falling in love with them and opening yourself up to trusting them. At your own pace.

Relationships are not dependant of sexual intercourse, but sex is the most intimate way to open yourself up and allow love in your heart.

Totally agree! Worth the wait… I obviously don’t know for sure if it’s worth the wait. But a girl is waiting anyway lol
