Opinion Piece: Bonang MATHEBA

BEHOLD, Ms Matheba!
BEHOLD, Ms Matheba!

Opinion noun a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

Opinion Piece noun an article in which the writer expresses their personal opinion, typically one which is controversial or provocative, about a particular issue or item of news.

I remember attending my very first major event when I was still living in Johannesburg. For the first time I got to see Ms Bonang Matheba in real life, and I will not deny just how star struck I had been for that ENTIRE weekend (and the following week, really).

Ms Matheba was, at that time, a presenter on Live, the TV show. I must say, it really is amazing just how a person’s own determination and overall tenacity is able to inspire and further empower the on-looker. That really is how we impact each other in this life, that exactly is what gives us the power to be able to touch the lives of people we have NEVER formally met before.

Now, you may or may not be aware of all of the publicity that has been attracted by the AKA + DJ Zinhle + Bonang story, yet it has definitely caught my attention and has created a bit of discomfort within. I am a strong believer in that I, as a mere human, have no right or even authority to pass judgement on a fellow humanoid and so I do not.

I have read the article that was posted by Zinhle Jiyane (DJ Zinhle) on her blog http://momentsbydjzinhle.com where she ever so eloquently states the reason for her break up with Kiernan (AKA). I respect her decision to ‘deal and find peace with his choice’.

At the same time I cannot ignore that both AKA and Bonang released statements denying this affair. Now I am not in a position to decide which statement is true and which is not. As a matter of fact my entire life I have adopted a ‘Innocent until proven guilty’ approach.

In my opinion Bonang Matheba is a progressive and influential figure that has touched the lives of many dreamers, myself included. When translated her name is a statement that grabs your attention by urging you to BEHOLD! LOOK! OBSERVE! SEE!!!

In the spirit of Ms Matheba’s stature, I invite you to witness just how the QUEEN will rise from all of this confusion! Bonang lona! Look you guys! http://bonangmatheba.com
